As Maddie is a bit of a thrill-seeker we decided she would love to have a go with us. I took Maddie with me first, with Stephen following just in case I had to slam the brake on! We got on the sleigh and were pushed off towards the pulley system. As we climbed the hill, I got a view of the run and hoped that Maddie would like it. Just as we got to the top, I told Maddie to cry “weeeeee!” as we went down. So as the wind was racing past our faces, all I heard was “weeeeee!” round each bend on the bobsleigh run. She loved it! After a few more rides, we decided to head for a walk. The chairlift in Thredbo is open all year round and at this time of year it was busy with walkers, people just wanting a hot chocolate with a view at the cafe at the top and also mountain bikers. Again, Maddie didn’t let us down with her appreciation of the chairlift. I still can’t understand why she might be terrified of a stone sheep, yet will happily zoom down a bobsleigh or dangle in a chairlift! It was a 10 minute trip to the top and as we had planned a longer walk for the next day, we decided to make this a shorter one.
